(Museum of Science) This is the original Van de Graaf generator, built in the 1930s at MIT. We attended a show where most of the electrical devices in this exhibit were actually activated.

These two bright red trees (maples, I assume) glowed brightly in the afternoon sun. This picture was taken from a carriage road in the north part of the park, and was looking south. This was the day we rented bicycles to ride through the park.
