Ontario 2011
Toronto/Hamilton and vicinity
Friday, April 29 through Tuesday, May 3, 2011
I attended the air show in Hamilton Ontario on April 30 and May 1, then went to the Ontario Science Centre on May 2. These tracks cover the time from my arrival at Toronto Pearson International Airport through my return to that airport, including two side trips to Kitchener.
The GPX files have been edited only to remove extraneous points and obvious errors.
Overview
- All GPS tracks / view map—The whole trip (excluding flights and travel from home to the airport).
The trip
- April 29: GPX / view map—Driving from Pearson Int'l Airport to Kitchener (to eat at the awesome Rainbow (Caribbean Cuisine) restaurant there), then to the hotel in Mississauga.
- April 30: GPX / view map—From the hotel in Mississauga to the Hamilton Int'l Airport (for the air show), to Humber Bay Park East, where there is a great view of the Toronto skyline, and back to the hotel. Also includes the dinner stop at the excellent Mandarin (Chinese/British buffet) restaurant in Burlington.
- May 1: GPX / view map—From the hotel in Mississauga to the Hamilton Int'l Airport (for the air show), to the Cambridge Butterfly Museum (formerly Wings of Paradise), to Rainbow and back to the hotel.
- May 2: GPX / view map—From the hotel in Mississauga to the Ontario Science Centre, to the CN Tower, and back to the hotel. Includes a short side trip to the Mandarin restaurant in Oakville. Also includes a few odd diversions from the normal route from Toronto to Mississauga, due to missed turns and such in very heavy traffic.
- May 3: GPX / view map—From the hotel in Mississauga to Pearson Int'l Airport.
