Singapore 2016
Singapore, including Sentosa and Pulau Ubin
Saturday, November 26 through Sunday, December 4
We flew from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Denver, Colorado to San Francisco, California to Singapore on Saturday, November 26. We used public transportation (MRT [train], bus, taxi) for the majority of our movement in Singapore, along with lots of walking–and we rented bicycles on Pulau Ubin. We returned to Oklahoma City by the reverse route.
I tracked most of the trip with a (new) Bad Elf GPS Pro+ GPSr (GPS receiver). The GPS signals were blocked by the Boeing 787 we rode between San Francisco and Singapore (both directions), so those tracks are derived from FlightAware.com instead. NOTE: the downloadable GPX tracks are the full GPX files, while those shown on the provided "view map" links are simplified (with minimal effect on geographic accuracy) for much faster viewing.
Original GPX tracks are unedited.
Businesses are named below for reference only. No endorsement should be inferred. If you wish to see my opinion of the places mentioned, see TripAdvisor (for those that I have actually rated).
Overview
- All GPS tracks / view map—The whole trip, including walking, riding, etc. (MRT trains often went through tunnels, making the GPS track unreliable in those cases). (NOTE: the map fails to properly render our crossings of the 180th Meridian, making long horizontal lines across the map. Please disregard them.
